Boris Zetterlund focuses on product and development strategy for the Axiell Group. He was formerly managing director of the Axiell BOOK-IT business area offering IT services to over 200 customers (mainly public libraries plus some university libraries) in Sweden and Denmark. A Masters Degree in Librarianship followed studies in History of Ideas and Social Sciences. Boris worked for 13 years in Sweden's Malmö City Library on all aspects of the trade, latterly as systems and IT manager. Over the last 12 years he has worked for BTJ Sweden and Axiell on all levels in the library automation and the information world including LMS services and Web portals. His particular areas of interest include: Web applications; mobile technology; e-books; future technologies; library change processes; user experiences; how the physical library translates to the virtual room; the library service as a force for creativity and change. Boris is an experienced public speaker with previous engagements at events such as Scandinavian library conferences and national and regional level events in Sweden, Denmark and Finland. Over the last two years Boris Zetterlund has also had two presentations on Online Information in London, UK about Mobile technology and about Culture Portals. He is a member of IFLA, LITA and the Swedish Library Association. Publications include an investigation and report on media for immigrants in Swedish libraries.
